Brownstein, founder and owner of The Brownstein Firm, represents small businesses, creditors, and individuals who are involved in bankruptcies and financial disputes. Previously, David co-founded and ran the firm Brownstein & Brownstein, LLP, in Woodland Hills, California, with his father, bankruptcy attorney Richard Brownstein, from 2003 until 2012. At Brownstein & Brownstein, LLP, he represented hundreds of bankruptcy clients from all angles of the practice personally, and also managed the work of his associates.
Prior to founding Brownstein & Brownstein, LLP, David was an associate at Levene Neale Bender Rankin & Brill, LLP, in Century City. LNBRB (now LNBYB), is considered one of the preeminent Chapter 11 firms in California, and David worked on numerous “brand name” Chapter 11 reorganization cases in California, Nevada, and Delaware. David also managed and handled the nation-wide preference litigation cases of a large national home-goods retailer out of the Bankruptcy Court of Delaware.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]

EDUCATION
David earned his law degree at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1997. During his third year of law school, David also clerked for the year in the Lands and Natural Resource division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California, San Francisco.
David holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (cum laude). He is admitted to practice in California and Washington, D.C., (though currently inactive in D.C.).
